Ingredients:
- 1 cup rava (semolina / sooji)
- ¾ cup yogurt(curd) (if sour its better)
- Some Onion finely chopped
- Some coriander leaves, finely chopped
- Small ginger(adrak), finely chopped
- 1-2 green chillis, finely chopped (optional)
- 5 curry leaves / kari patta, finely chopped
- 1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
- salt to taste
- water if required, to prepare dough
- oil for deep frying
Instructions
- Mix sooji/rava with yogurt
- Add cumin seeds, green chili, ginger, curry leaves, coriander leaves, onion, and salt.
- Mix well to form a dough.
- Add extra water or yogurt if required.
- Keep the dough covered for 25 minutes, so that the sooji absorbs moisture
- Grease both hands with oil and take a ball sized dough.
- Flatten and make a hole in the center.
- Fry the vadas on medium heat till they turn golden brown from both sides
- Serve with hari chutney or coconut chutney
